KJC Games specialises in Strategy Management Gaming.
We design and run multi-player Role-playing, War and Sports games.
Our games include Fantasy Role-playing Games, Sci-fi & Space Opera Games, Wargames, Monster Games, Crime Games, Fantasy Football Game and our latest football game ETO Manager.
We are also in the process of writing several new games and updating existing ones. We are also working closely with other companies in order to bring our customers the most sophisticated browser games on the market including one based on The Lord of the Rings™.
Most of our games are based on open-ended persistent universes. This means that you do not need to play continuously to succeed, so gaming fits around real-life commitments.

I was looking for a new game to investigate and thought I might try one from KJC - hence the adding of the company details.
If I remember correctly, KJC have been around for quite a long time in the PBM world and hopefully the games on offer would be good having stood the test of time.
Does anyone have any current or recent experience of games by this company?
Hi.
I've been playing Phoniex/BSE for almost 14 years now with KJC Games.
They have just opened up a new website for the game so that it can become completely web interfaced. It's not quite finished yet, things like order editors and such like are to be added, but they've let players on to start customising their affiliations sections of the site.I'm very impressed!
The game is also on the verge of some big upgrades in the areas of combat, interaction with planetary populations and how affilations can claim star systems, which will make the whole playing area have a more frontier feel to it.
KJC also run several other games, which include,Quest. Its A Crime,Warlord,Monster Island and some football(Soccer)manager type game.

Phoenix sounds like it has quite some longevity, how large is the user base?
Also have you ever tried some of the other games and if so could you give us a brief rundown?
Having just had a quick look at the user list on their new site there's around 100 players give or take.
I played Quest for awhile and that has a reasonable sized player base as well.As with Phoenix KJC are currenly upgrading the game, but I dropped out as I got bored with it.But I think it will be a lot better once the upgrade is complete.I don't know how far along it's got as I don't follow the threads on the Quest section of KJCs forum.
I've dabbled in Warlord and It's a Crime.I was throughly enjoying both games, but real world finances became a bit tight and something had to give, and as Phoenix as my main passion I dropped both those.Very good games though.Never played the soccer game as I can't stand soccer as a sport anyway.Much prefer F1.Tried several times to get Mica of KJC to start up a F1 game, but he won't budge!!
Lurking on this forum somewhere is my recruitment notice I give out to new Phoenix players if you're interested.
I'm head of the FET affiliation and we're on the look out for new members!

Personally I think Warlord or It's a Crime are more up my street as I don't currently have the time to commit to a large open ended game.
Maybe when I have my degree out of the way....

One thing I forgot to mention about playing Phoenix. If you run just ships and use no surface exploration orders or special actions(these cost £1.80)you play for free.
So you could join the game and learn the ropes by doing a few cargo runs for you affiliation and maybe participate in battles all at no cost in real money.
Of course playing this way only scratches the surface of the game!
KJC's "Its a Crime" had been my second PBM ever after Tribes of Crane, back in 1995. Very fast to play and fun, but i was eventually put off by lots of inactivity in player base (too many played 1-2 turns and dropped off) and pre-made alliances. Dont know what the situations is now but i enjoyed it back then. I have also tried Quest and Warlord.
