I used to play WLTP some 20 odd years ago when it was run by Vengeance Games.

It was a sci-fi power politics game in the style of Frank Herberts Dune.

It was an excellent game.Is it still going in some form or other?

Or is there any other game out there currently running that has a similar theme?
Wish I knew, Ted!!!

My own experience of this quite revolutionary game (for its time) was somewhat limited by my own stupidity. During a telephone conversation with a supposed ally he asked me what my current plans were. Foolishly I blabbed only to be informed that this news had gone on speaker phone round Games Workshop HQ where many staff were WLTP players. Sad

House Konstantin didn't last very long after that....

Still, it would be a cracker of a game if revived.
Yeah it was a great game.
I had two attempts at it.My first house was wiped out after I assassinated a rival by making sure a poisonous snake was placed in his sauna!Smile

I lasted about 3 turns after the player found out it was me!Rolleyes

Then I started up another house that was located on the planet Sinbad.
I was doing really well and had seen off a few rival houses on the planet when real life interuppted and I had to stop playing PBMs for awhile.
We're talking 20 years ago now!!!Big Grin

Would love to see it come back.
I loved this game. I was House Shaitan, made it to Major House status and was then wiped out when helping another house out in a minor conflict with the wrong house Tongue

Did anyone try Corporate War, the next game that came from Vengeance Games? I played it for a few turns, but it didn't really seem to catch speed, and I lost interest - maybe too soon.

Edit: I actually think I had a review of WLTP in Flagship... Smile

I've had a separate query from someone who thinks the game is now owned by a player called Dean Johnson. I'll put a note in the next issue... Carol

Yep, its owned by me.

I played House Atlas and House Axis (ended up owning most of the Slave Trade on a LOT of planets for various reasons).

I loved the game so much that I bought it.

That and Corporate Wars.

may i ask what your intentions are with the game? are you selling on or restarting the game?
Hi all.

I too remember Where Lies the Power with great affection. My 2nd favourite PBM ever - after Delenda est Carthago, obviously.

I thought the game universe and game system were exceptional.

If it ever started up again, I'd be in.

(oh, and Hello, Dean !)

LoL

All the Best
