Full Version: logout problem

When I go to the website I am not logged in. But even if I dont log in because I want to just see the latest post, I find that if I click on the forums to leave the front page I am shown as logged in. If I then click the logout on the top of the page I get this message:

"Your user ID could not be verified to log you out. This may have been because a malicious Javascript was attempting to log you out automatically. If you intended to logout, please click the Logout button at the top menu."

I get the same message if I re-click the top logout. So I'm still logged in. And going back to the home page - lo and behold, I am logged in, without having logged myself in! It happens even if I close the window and open a new window half an hour later (or any time later) in a while to see if I am still logged in. That is, I am shown as logged out on the home page but logged in if I click on the forums.

I really don’t want to have to clear my cache every time to log out then log in if I want to post something. Its not a huge problem but it needs fixing. I wonder if anyone else has this happen?
It is not a new issue. I posted on the MyBB support forums regarding this particular problem back on September 16th, 2007. Here's a link to my posting regarding this problem:

Hopefully, the problem will be solved, when I upgrade the forum software to the latest release, which just happened to have come out yesterday. If I get time, then I will upgrade the MyBB forum software used on the Flagship website to version 1.2.10, either later tonight or tomorrow.
Well, I did the upgrade, but the problem has not been solved.

The next step is to revert all of the templates that I changed, back to the master templates for the new version, and then work my way back from there.

That. however, may take some time.
OK, I have changed a couple of templates.

Try clearing your web browser's cache just once, Greybeard, and then log out, and then log in and log out several times, and let me know if you continue to receive the error message, or if the problem now seems to be fixed.
I have made a few new changes, trying to track down any problems logging in and logging out. Try clearing your web browser's cache and cookies, and then log in and log out, and let me know if any of you are still experiencing problems.

Currently, I am able to log in and log out, without any problems nor error messages popping up. But, I would still like to hear from those who might still be having problems. Be specific, in reporting what exact problems that you are having, and that may make it easier to track down.
Just curious if any, and how many, of you site visitors continue to have a problem with the log out option?
