Flagship - The Independent Magazine for Gamers

I normally send a boardgame to my brother for Christmas and will be grateful for suggestions. He has three teenage sons and there are usually 6-10 people around to play together at Christmas.
I quite like the sound of "It's Alive". Can anyone suggest another lively family game?

Thanks - I've played and enjoyed the first of these. I guess I'd better check that the family doesn't already own either game or "It's Alive"...
