Hello everyone,

I think that cost is a issue for many folks, that aren't fully sold on PBM / PBEM hobby. Yes they don't realize how it can add up and some are just shocked by it and just drop it without seeing if it is really what they wanted and can have fun with them. Although I always felt that those games that gave a beginning player some game dollars so they get to run some turns first to get the feel / flavor of the game seem to retain more players. I believe that is the case but I could be all wrong to.

Time. Mainly time. I tend to drift to complicated games which need thought. Presently I am in a playtest game called Tarmellion which is an offshoot of the Atlantis one. Complicated and a weekly turn. I estimate it takes 5-10 hrs to do a turn-thus won't take on another weekly game of any sort. I would be happier if this was every two or more weeks a turn. The second game is that of Midgard-now that takes thought and time. I estimate that my two clans take a minimum week of thought before even beginning to send the orders in-and the interaction with messages and such(and backstabbing attempts against me{Really! I only accepted the contract for cash without knowing what was being delivered})take up time but is very enjoyable. Needless to say this is my all time favorite, minimal magic of any type which doesn't interest me(And the number of clans who have insulted me, via the message board, while I go my merry way is astonishing. Great fun and all in the spirit of the game in replying). But it takes time-so figure 10-15 hrs thought, 3-5 hrs replying when I do-thinking up the best replies I can, and two hrs sending out the turn and making corrections.

That's it........................Rellim1
